Western New York Area Local 183, AFL-CIO

The Western New York Area Local is primarily focused on providing our members with the best representation possible. A goal achieved through a well structured organization with dedicated representatives given the proper education, resources and support necessary for success.  Beyond our primary objective, we organize numerous meetings, training conferences, and social gatherings to foster unity amoung our members, for where there is unity, there is strength.

We currently represent approximately 260 members in over 150 different post offices.  We span an area about 8,119 square miles from Lake Ontario, down along the Lake Erie shoreline to Pennsylvania and as far East as Olean and Batavia (with the exception of the Buffalo P&DC and it's stations and branches).  Most of our offices are small with anywhere from 1 to 3 employees.  Our larger offices, with more than 10 employees, are Jamestown, East Aurora, Hamburg, Lancaster, Lockport, Niagara Falls, Orchard Park, Tonawanda and Olean.  Niagara Falls is our largerst office with over 30 employees.

We currently have 22 stewards/alternate stewards who represent 13 different offices. Those offices are identified in the WNY Member Office list.  The other 57 offices are represented by President, Lori Cash.

The link to a list of non-members is an open invitation to these employees to join with us.  Additionally, the map linked to this page represents the geographical limits of our local.  We welcome any post office within this geographic area who may be interested in joining our local to contact us.  Remember, in unity there is strength!
